Strokes
Disability resulting from vascular injuries to the brain is a common and debilitating injury. FamilyCare physical therapists routinely work with patients who have suffered a cerebral vascular accident or a "CVA". The use of progressive, therapeutic exercising and gait training is essential in full potential recovery from these injuries. It is found, patients who fail to fully participate in the rehabilitation process following a stroke often decline further rather than reach their full potential improvement. With rehabilitation, stroke patients improve with regard to tolerance to daily activities and can often return to their recreational pursuits. The consequence of CVA is often progressive weakness and loss of physical endurance. Consistent therapeutic exercising on a daily basis is extremely important.
